IN BATTLE Name New Album, Set Release Date

Sundsvall, Sweden-based death metallers IN BATTLE have set "Welcome To The Battlefield" as the title of their upcoming album, tentatively due on August 4 through Cold/Metal Blade Records.

The CD, which will contain 10 songs (plus one bonus track on the Japanese release),will be mixed at Mana studio in Florida with producer Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL/ex-MORBID ANGEL).

IN BATTLE had previously released two albums (1997's "In Battle" and 1998's "The Rage Of The Northmen") through Austria's Napalm Records. A recently recorded four-song promotional demo, "Soul Metamorphosis", has also been made available. Download two cuts from the promo CD: "King God" (mp3),"Pioneers of a Dead Future" (mp3).

In other news, IN BATTLE have posted a live video for the track "Ruler Of The Northern Spheres" at this location (file size: 19.9 MB). According to a post on the band's web site, "the video does not feature the current line-up. Nisse and Marcus are not playing on the video. In a matter of fact, vocalist Odhinn takes care of the drums, while the vocals and bass are taken care of by session musicians."
